In order to help you make a better selection of a GPS receiver this article will set out and examine three GPS devices from three different manufacturers. The first device is manufactured by one of the most popular GPS receiver models in the market manufactured by Garmin. The second is made by an equally popular brand, Magellan and the third one is made by a less known brand, Mio.

The Garmin Nuvi 265w receiver is considered on of the few GPS systems on the market that has many features. The manufacturer, Garmin, has a reputation for manufacturing portable navigation systems and is considered one of the leaders in the field.

The Garmin 4.3 nuvi 265 wt GPS is one of those receivers that feature a 4.3" wide screen display for easy viewing of the maps. The screen has three dimensional views so you can view the screen how you feel comfortable. In addition, the Garmin 4.3 nuvi 265 wt GPS comes preloaded with hundreds of street maps for the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

The second GPS device of similar caliber is the Magellan RoadMate 1200. The Magellan RoadMate 1200 is one more relatively simple and easy to use gps system. The Magellan Roadmate1200 Touch-Screen GPS unit is a no frills GPS, and is geared towards the first time GPS buyer who has needs for a simple navigation device that just works.

It features a 3.5 inch screen which is very bright and is viewable from wide angles. The text and maps are clear and sharp. What is also very noticeable about the RoadMate 1200 is the extremely slim profile and light weight. While not iPhone thin, I believe it is the thinnest GPS device I've held.

The third GPS device this article will examine is the Mio Moov 500. The Miot Moov 500 features a wide 4.3-inch touch screen which places it on the larger side of the size spectrum for navigation devices. Other premium features include real-time traffic updates, and a text-to-speech engine for pronouncing street names, and a generous library of 3.5 million points of interest.

The Moov's 4.3-inch screen is far from the best-looking gps device, but the design crew did a decent job of milking it to make the most crucial data visible. One more thing worth noting is that the Moov's text-to-speech synthesizer is far from being the best. Overall the device is of good value primarily because of its low price.

Don't overpay for a GPS device. Find many discount GPS device online. Get the miot moov 500 portable GPS receiver for less or even the Magellan Roadmate1200 Touch-Screen GPS unit on sale. One you wont find that easy is the Garmin 4.3 nuvi 265 wt GPS navigator
